To enhance public knowledge about aviation and flight techniques, in conjunction with the August 10th Air Force Chiayi Base open day, the AudioVisual Communication Foundation will also launch aviation science-themed activities around the venue. The activities include:
Parent-child handmade aircraft creation, military experiment demonstrations, flight shows, and aircraft tours. The public will have opportunities to interact with aviation experts, understand flight principles, aircraft structures, and gain insight into the context of aviation history and technological development.
The handmade aircraft giveaway will be conducted in two phases, at 10 AM and 2 PM, with plans to distribute 1600 handmade aircraft to on-site participants. We are honored to have Ms. Chen Tzu-hsuan, the chairperson of the AudioVisual Communication Foundation, sponsoring our event and personally presenting handmade aircraft to students. Additionally, our booth is located in the hangar rest area, showcasing models including a 6.8-meter U2 aircraft and remote-controlled jets. We are also the only booth setting up a DIY teaching area, and we look forward to welcoming all participants.
Furthermore, the event is co-organized by the "Rediscovering Science" program, a collaboration between the Ministry of Science and Technology and Shih Hsin University. "Rediscovering Science" is Taiwan's first regularly scheduled science popularization program. Its content includes science videos produced by the Ministry of Science and Technology on energy, ecology, environment, and sports, aiming to connect science promotion activities with scientific knowledge, bringing diverse scientific experiences to the audience.
We cordially invite all members of the public to visit the Chiayi Air Force Base on August 10th to participate in this free and educational science popularization event. Through this platform, we hope to spark interest in the field of aviation and popularize aviation knowledge among the public, enhancing the scientific literacy of the Taiwanese people.
